Why is everyone after this guy all of a sudden?

2coolspirit does not sell bootlegs, it is an 800XL conversion, see below:

He even has a link to a video of the gameplay.

Hey guys - my 2 cents - I have ordered from him - good communication, very nice, direct to the point and stands by his products. I bought a Jumpman Junior cart from him, it did not work, he sent me a shipping label, sent it back - he sent me another Jumpman - that one also did not work. So he refunded my money fully and sent me Tempest for free for all the trouble I had.. I'm not sure why 2 Jumpman carts in two separate 5200 consoles did not work - but Tempest worked fine. I would recommend ordering if you see something you like, there is nothing to loose. HTH - also I was told that many authors give consent to create these conversions.

Since this game was never released, I would call them reproductions as opposed to bootlegs. He has purchased games directly from the AtariAge Store to sell on eBay, including various 5200 games. If you see any AtariAge homebrews in his eBay listings, they are legitimate copies of the games.

I've bought from him many times he's one of the best sellers on Ebay. He's nice, he goes out of his way for his customers and is always available to answer questions. He's won my loyalty and that's why I continue to go back to him and I've been collecting over 30 years. All the 5200 carts you see are reproductions of games ported from the Atari 800

If you like creating new labels for new games on Cart.

Would you do one for AtariBlast! ?

One for the 5200 and another one for the 8-bit computers.

Also one for HawkQuest - for 8-bit computers would be nice too.

Thank you.

Harvey

Yes, but is this legal? Or is this a gray area? I think that's why this "bootleg" question continually comes up... sellers are burning ROMs, assembling a PCB, and creating a cart. That's original work that I want to pay for. But how about using the converted software?

Someone ("classics"?) did the conversion work. Is it okay to repackage and sell that? When is it not okay?

Most of the 5200 games he buys are from atariage and good deal games....both reputable websites and companies so I would say those are all legitimate. There are bootleggers out there and no it's not right to profit off someone else hard work I'm just saying this seller isn't one of them

I always support Al and have for the last 15 years or so as he and atariage are some of the best in the business. But there are so many games out there and not everybody carries every game for every system so I buy from different sellers as I'm sure you have too. The markups are also negligible on most games. Atariage is responsible for getting me into homebrew collecting and will always appreciate it

Oddly enough there are some consoles that won't play Moon Patrol . I think it was a four port that would not play it .

First I've heard of this as I play Moon Patrol pretty regularly on my 4-port. I've never had any issues with moon patrol and I've had quite a few 4-port units cross my way. In fact I sometimes use moon patrol as a good test game for fire buttons on controllers since one button jumps and the other fires.

What issue does it have reported on 4-port models?

So why not just buy from Al and support AtariAge instead of paying more for the same game off Ebay?

I can only guess that the people buying them on ebay don't know they are available for less money directly from AA and GDG, or they would have bought them here. Al still get's paid for selling the carts to him and the developers still get their cut. So AA is being supported and is probably selling more games as well.
