Any Atari equivalent to sid music files?

Probably SAP. Good starting point here http://asma.atari.org/

Fairly sure it emulates an actual machine with particular attention to periodic (usually VBlank) programatic play routines and Pokey + stereo.

ASAP standalone player available, and plugins for WinAmp as well as players that can run on other non-PC hardware.

RMT is the most used music creator in the modern day, generally content files created are executables that can run on emulators and real machines.
