Played on MAME 0.200

This is the first time I've ever checked this game out. I kind of prefer the art direction of the first Time Pilot, with the nice parallax clouds in the background. But I must say, I really like the vibe of this game! There are a lot of different strategies to figure out with all the enemy types. It's a lot of fun! Thank you for introducing me to Time Pilot '84! I hope to keep playing it and see if I can get further.

Edit: By the way, does anyone have a bezel overlay for MAME for this game?

Yeah, I prefer the look and theme of the original (going through different time periods, parallax clouds), but this one isn't bad.

Time Pilot '84: 38,300. Played on MAME 0.175.0.0. Difficulty: Hard. Extra lives at 20,000 and 60,000. I compared TP84 to the original today and the original's waaaaay harder. Both are still great games though.

Great gameplay, though certainly much less imaginative than the original. It's also one of these control schemes I can never fully get used to...

Funny, when I first saw this game I was hardly thrilled, now want to play it all the time (well, as much as my arthritic thumb allows for - gamepad stick is not ideal for this game). It's got that something...maybe the fact it's so intense from the start and also feels very rewarding.

131K, ha, I knew there's more to come :) I managed to scrape just over 100K couple of times but that's probably as good as it gets from me.

I'm curious if anybody managed to shoot down the original Time Pilot biplane? It's super rare, I saw it only once and it got away.

Alright! More participants. Things are picking up now.

It seems like by the time I reach the 3rd or 4th level I become too afraid of going after the ships that need to be destroyed with the missiles and it's all about survival. Gotta try to be more aggressive.
