I know how to do bankswitching on Game Gear. I have an idea for a Game Gear game that would need bankswitching (another one). There's just one problem: My game may be too big to do right now if I plan to keep doing intricate, lovely graphics like this. So I may have to simplify them.
After a ton of work, I finally got the health to display in Frank the Fruit Fly for Game Gear. I also got the health to go up or down, depending if he gets hit or eats fruit (which is way later in the game.) In this screenshot, his health is at a starting 100% For testing purposes, I put in pressing 1 to decrease his health, and pressing 2 increases it. All works fine. I even got it so if Frank's health reaches 0%, it will go to a death screen (right now it just goes back to the title screen.)
I still have work to do on this, like limiting Frank's health so it doesn't go above 100%. But i don't want to do that now since I've been working hard last night and today so far. I also have to figure out how to make it so if it goes below 0%, Frank will also die.
So what's next (after that) is to add a spider for Frank to get past. I plan to make it be fairly easy to do, to get people warmed up to the game's mechanics. Our extra dog has now gone back home, and my sister and family have returned from Hawaii.
