Recent eBay purchase

Recommended Posts

I bought this on eBay on Tuesday, it arrived yesterday. It had a buy in now price of $499 or best offer. I Offered $300 (good deal?) and was accepted, plus shipping and tax.

Atari ST Mega 4 unmodified with keyboard, no mouse (I had one though)

SF314 with power and data cables.

Impulse hard drive enclosure with a Seagate ST157N (abt 50 mg) hard drive inside and an ACSI cable.

A modem (No value to me)

Monitor Master switch box with one cable.

2 power cables

In the pictures you can see the keyboard cable plugged into the modem. Not my pics, these were the one on eBay.

It all works.

Not including any kind of storage, I have plenty, what mods should I do?

Probably a TOS ROM switcher, other than that what else would you need?

I was thinking about the same. Things I have or is in the machine: 4 meg ram, TOS 1.04, NetUSB, a lot of SCSI HDs and a SCSI to SD converter, 2 megafile 30s, Link2, CosmosEx.

A TOS switcher would be nice for older software. Probably should update the power supply. I cannot think of anything else to mod on it.

The keyboard alone fetches $200. So yeah, great deal.

Keyboards really go for that? damn.

I now have

1 Falcon

1 Mega STE

1 Mega 4

2 1040stf

I think I am done buying machines.

There is no way I would pay $200 for a keyboard for a Mega ST, I Only paid $260 for the Mega STE I bought recently and that included a keyboard. I know the Mega ST keyboard is supposed to be nicer but I see Megas going for decent prices with a keyboard. The same thing is happening with prices on Amiga keyboards too, just have to wait for a decent deal and grab it as soon as it lists. I see lots of keyboards being parted out with individual keys getting sold too, I really hope people are not just buying working keyboards to sell keys one off.

I guess I was not done buying equipment. I just took delivery on this deal on eBay. It was too good to pass up. All the description said was "I have a lot of vintage Atari stuff that appears to be in working order. Selling as is because I have no way to test it." and had pics. $200, plus $42 shipping.

1040 STf stock working

ICD FAST HD working. AdSCSI Plus St inside with a HD of less than 200 meg (Do not recall what it was). It can hold two HDs so I will add one to this.

Other HD working. AdSCSI Plus St inside with 3 HDs. 1 128 meg Quantum and 2 170 meg IBMs. Since it has that 5 1/4 bay, I will probably put a SyQuest 44 Drive in there and remove the 2 HDs taking up that space.

Mega 4 not working. It does power on, but I get screen garbage. There have been upgrades done to this machine. Memory and what looks like a 1.44 floppy upgrade. Someone that is not all that skilled with a soldering iron attacked it. I will try to put it back to stock and go from there. From the looks of the memory upgrade it may not be a Mega 4 board, but rather a Mega two that was upgraded, I'll take a closer look when time permits. Not upgraded with simms.
