CX40Hero
Hi all, I have an AV modded 6 switcher and ive just picked up one of these cheap little easycaps, has anyone used these to any sucsess? I'm using a modernish windows desktop and want to record some of my gameplay (for high score attempts etc) but don't fancy running Stella, I much prefer original (all be it slightly modded) hardware. Any advice re setup, best programs to run the device with, will be greatly appreciated Edited August 17, 2018 by CX40Hero
FireStar
I can recommend using OBS studio or AmarecTV for capture, OBS is a bit more modern and will let you livestream if you're interested in that, whilst AmarecTV has a ton of options relevant to retro gaming, such as a bunch of deinterlacing options. Personally I use yadifx2 deinterlacing in OBS when recording consoles from composite. Also a word of warning on the easycap if you are using s-video, the s-video input may not actually be s-video but just s-video converted to composite, my particular easycap model does this. It's pretty easy to tell since it'll look like a mess.
+DrVenkman
OBS Studio works great for S-video and composite from my 1088XEL. It should work similarly great for my AV-modded 4-Switch Woody, though I've never actually tested it.
CX40Hero
I may have made this more difficult for myself, Windows has now been changed to Ubuntu 18.04 64 bit LTS.... Mainly because the hard drive died that was running Windows...... and I hated it....
