As a person who attends, plans to attend or wants to attend a gathering, what would YOU as an attendee enjoy the most?

Depending on individual answers, a percentage of time could be figured out for each item and a perfect gathering for most people could be tailored for the best experience possible.

This data could be used for any TI gathering anywhere in the country, possibly one not even conceived of yet.

I actually have the money to go to Fest West or Chicago now, but no buddies to ride with or spend time with.

All my old TI buddies all passed away or left the TI community.

Hey I'm still here. And I remember a young RXB at the Portland 1990 Faire so excited about everything. That's how you'll always be in my memories.

Chicago Faire is usually late October / Early November. I don't know where the official posting ends up...

---

Speaking of, nothing is set up for Fest West 2019. And I've decided this morning, that I'm not it.

I'm going to downsize my role to 'having fun' - I still need to figure out what that means.

I hope someone picks it up.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm wondering, if Fest West 2019 was turned into a TWO-DAY affair with more socialization, and a swap meet along with all the other things, would more people come from further away? For example, people from Seattle have a long drive to come down for just a few hours to turn right around and drive home again. If it was a two day gathering, people could play games on their TI's in their hotel rooms and have a heck of a good time even away from the organized activities. It would be like a mini-vacation at the end of April!

@Vorticon, I see you like the idea of a two day format. Would it make it worth your while to attend a Fest West (more bang for the buck). Honestly, I like the idea of a two day format too. Those who want to make it a two day thing could, those who don't could just choose to show up for the main event. More choices make for more and happier attendees!

The poll results (so far) it looks like…
People like unstructured time to visit and mingle. (Perfect for a two day gathering).
People enjoy the presentations, in moderation and if they are not long-winded ones.
Is there enough stuff going on this year for a couple of presentations?
Having a swap meet at the next one would be popular.
I have to admit, I would love to thin my collection a little... and there are a couple of items I'd still like to obtain.
People like the drawings.
People like breaking for lunch, but at the place they are meeting.
We could probably get a few more attendees adjusting the location a little.

Yes, I'm a fan of 2 day events. It allows for a more relaxed flow and more mingling and talking shop time.
