Nick99
Hi! My Gotek usb-stick doesn't work anymore, what files are needed on the usb-stick to work properly? Niklas
+jedimatt42
That highly depends on the firmware you use: 1 - Flash Floppy https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki Specifically, this expects an FF.CFG, a sample/default file is available on the site... I set the 'host' parameter to ti99, otherwise I've left everything else defaults. https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki/FF.CFG-Configuration-File 2 - hxc floppy emulator http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/ this has a windows desktop application for creating HFE files from DSK files, and that same app will create the configuration/preferences for the floppy emulation.

Nick99
OK, the sad part, I´m using HxCFloppyemulator and I can´t manage to find where to create the configuration. When I click on USB HxC floppy Emulator settings it says FTDI D2XX Driver not installed. I downloaded the D2XX driver to OSX and followed the instruction, but there are no difference. What am I doing wrong? or is it possible to download the config files and put it on the USB-stick?
Nick99
I can´t create AUTOBOOT.HFE or the HXCDFE.CFG... this is really annoying! I guess these are the important files to get it work... Edited August 26, 2018 by Nick99

FDOS
I managed to rescue the old files from the broken USB-stick and put them on the new one... works great! Tell us what the files are, so we too can have a great working GOTEK FDD emulator.
Nick99
It was HXCSDFE.CFG it´s the config file that is needed. There were also a HXCFEUSB_HFE_V3_0_8_2a.upd, I don´t think it´s needed... it seems to be a firmware update file.

Nick99
@jedimatt42 : Conversion to HFE is not needed anymore with the hxc firmware. Jeff_HxC2001, pardon me, but I don't understand the above quote. I tried to read the update information on the pages you linked, but I seem not to grip the information, sadly. When I mount a disk it is converted to HFE with help of the HxCFloppyEmulation program, will that not be needed with the new firmware? And, thanks for the above information!
