New to 2600

Hello everyone! I've been a collector of games off and on most of my life. Being born in the 80s I missed the 2600 for the most part and grew up on Nintendo and Sega . I got the Atari itch while buying nes carts and my local game dealer gave me a fantastic deal. I've got about 20 games at this point and a couple of my favorites are yars revenge and seaquest. Also...I kind of enjoy ET...

Anyway I look forward to meeting other collectors and learning about this amazing system!

Welcome to the board. 2600 can be a lot of fun, lots of great games, mostly for cheap, even if you go the ebay route.

Et gets a lot of hate, but it's not the mushroom cloud of apocalyptic doom its often made out to be, it's not a bad game. Not my favorite by far, even among the adventure genre, but still stays in regular rotation.

The atariage store has a lot of great new games if you got some spare money.

What are you into? The people here can lead you to the things that would more interest you.

Also, what controllers you got? I personally like a lot of the pong games, breakout, and kaboom, if you have a good set of paddles.

Anyhow, the Atari is great. It's a really reliable system with minimal maintenance, but also easy to work on for moderately inexperienced people. Hop it brings you many years of joy.
