Dauber
Episode 43 of The Atari 7800 Homebrew Podcast will be focusing on frankodragon's Draker Quest. You can find the podcast on iTunes/Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Google Play, the website http://homebrew78.fab4it.com, or use this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/homebrew78. What are your thoughts? Share 'em here! You can also e-mail text or audio to homebrew78 -at- fab4it -dot- com. I'm looking at Thursday, September 6, 11:59pm CDT as the deadline for this one. I apologize for the short notice, but with life and stuff occupying my time, I totally lost track of the time. :/ Comments are welcome any time, including after the deadline; any feedback from after the deadline will simply be addressed during a later episode. +SmittyB
I gave Draker Quest a go for the first time and I found it to be more engaging than I first expected. The graphics and sound are basic but they do get the point across and aren't distracting. I think it could do with some polish as I found myself moving through repeating corridors and colliding with enemies as soon as the screen changes so it was something of an endurance test to get to the next area. Overall I think it's a decent game and a good foundation for something more in the future.
gambler172
Hi Dauber I agree....Draker Quest is a good game.It was the first of its kind.Graphics and sound are not perfect, but ok to me.I only wish, that there was a save option.....but this seems to be a problem....not only for Clark....other programmers have a save problem too. For me...Draker Quest is near a Must have... greetings Walter
+frankodragon
I also have a sequel: Draker Quest II. I still have to test. But it does have Password save instead of saving to the AtariVox. Problem is the device made all sorts of squelching sounds using the save feature for it.
