firebottle Posted September 7, 2018 Share Posted September 7, 2018 I have a CRT progressive scan TV that I like to use in 720x480 mode using an Nvidia card. I discovered a strange bug when using this mode! Every game that has a Sara chip (Millipede, Dig Dug, Jr Pac Man, etc) will crash the emulator with: If I switch to 640x480 mode the Sara chip games work fine. Note that all other games work fine in 720x480 mode. I'm using Windows XP with the latest Visual C++ libraries. Nvidia driver is one of the last for XP: 340.52. I tried a half dozen different Stella versions from 4.73 to 5.13. Same result. Played around with Stella's video settings in options to no effect. Is there some place to report this bug? Off the top of my head I can think of Mountain King, Omega Race, and Burger Time. Version 6.0 is in beta, may want to give that a spin on the off chance this issue has already been fixed. None of those 3 games you mentioned work either. Tried 6.0 Beta, still crashes. I guess I'll switch to 640x480 when I want to play those games for now... Any PAL game, at this 720x480 resolution seems to crash. --- And another note, maybe related. The Prototype of Millipede seems to show a color title page in 3.9.3, but 5.1.3 shows a b/w title page. Turned out to be a missing check, which caused the line wrapping for the now tiny cart extra RAM window in the debugger to go mad (endless loop).
