CX40Hero
Aswell as a VCS fanboy Im also a huge horror fan (anything pre 1980's that is.... modern horror is pants!). I currently own the following 'Horror' games: Alien Halloween The Texas Chainsaw Massacre And yes, these are all obviously reproductions, I'm neither a millionaire nor the luckiest SOB ever Are there any classic horror games for the VCS that I need to start hunting down? I've only started collecting Atari again after a 10 year hiatus so my collection is depressingly small with less that 50 carts in total..... and 10 of those are Combat! Any suggestions of horror games would be greatly appreciated NB I'm also a huge1950's-1960's Sci Fi fan but I imagine a list encompassing great Sci Fi games for the 2600 would be a little bit long! +KaeruYojimbo
If you haven't checked out Fantastic Voyage that's a good one based on an old sci-fi movie. 20th Century Fox released several games based on old movies. Flash Gordon, The Earth Dies Screaming and Spacemaster X-7.

BassGuitari
Any Crypts Of Chaos fans here? While Tunnel Runner doesn't present itself as a horror game, per se, it's the only Atari game I can think of that has actually made me anxious. If you haven't checked out Fantastic Voyage that's a good one based on an old sci-fi movie. 20th Century Fox released several games based on old movies. Flash Gordon, The Earth Dies Screaming and Spacemaster X-7. At the risk of being "that guy," these games weren't created with any movies in mind. IIRC they were Sirius titles for the Atari 400/800 and VIC-20 (and probably others) that Fox acquired and tacked movie licenses onto: Flash Gordon = Spider City Earth Dies Screaming = Final Orbit Spacemaster X-7 = Alpha Shield Edited September 12, 2018 by BassGuitari
Phantom_of_Krankor
Seeing as fall is fast approaching Ill have to load up some of these games at night with the lights off for maximum effect.

Stage_1_Boss
That Ghost Manor / Spike's Peak double ender cart is one of my favorite things on the 2600. Also, although it's not a horror game, that dragon from Dragonfire seemed to creep me out when I was younger.
Austin
Doesn't get much better than Haunted House for me, personally.
Dr Manhattan
Another vote for Haunted Adventure Trilogy. Its a lot of fun, it has a great the spooky theme, and you really get a lot of bang for you buck on one cartridge.
Syzygy1
Another vote for Haunted House. As well as Frankenstein's Monster, those spiders creep me out. And though it's not a horror game, I have chiroptophobia (a fear of bats; Bruce Wayne had it when he was a kid and it contributes to Batman's origin, so that's why Batman is a notable favorite DC superhero of mine besides the fact that he's badass) and old graphics can be definitely spooky at times, so the bat from Adventure... brrrrr. And it's not just Adventure too; old games tend to make me anxious. Things getting really close to the screen like in Star Ship freaks me out. And when you get hit in Robot Tank and the screen shakes; I was not ready for that and I immediately closed out the game and I don't think I want to play that again. The only 2600 game that doesn't put me on edge is Star Wars: The Arcade Game, and I think Superman (looking at the blocky buildings kinda creeps me out; but only if I really pay attention to it.) (PS: I heard Mountain King has bats as enemies; haven't checked that out but hopefully I will!) Edited February 10, 2019 by Syzygy1
Raspookin
Skeleton+ is an excellent first person maze crawler and a must have for horror fanatic Atarians! plenty of suspense, jump scares, great atmosphere and wonderful use of audio cues, especially in stereo.
