Low sound on 2600

Hi All,

 

New here...

 

I have a problem with my 2600, hoping someone can give some pointers.

 

About a year ago, I composite modded my 2600 and all was good.

However, I recently got a new(old) CRT and thought I'd connect up the 2600 for some gaming with my 5yr old son.

 

But there was no sound, well, there was sound if I cranked up the TV to max volume, but it was barely hearable.

 

I have :

tried another TV,

tried other cables,

replaced c206 and c207 with something I read was a good replacement (MLCC 820pF 50V)

 

But nothing changed.

 

In the process of fiddling, the screen display went from crisp and bright, to rather dull, to nothing at all.

 

Any ideas on what I can try to fix this problem?

 

I know its all rather vague, but hopefully someone can give me some pointers as to where to look.
