+OLD CS1
I have been trying to copy a bunch of MUS (SID player files) over to the TI from my Windows 7 x64 machine. I have all my files stored on a NAS to which TIHDX points. Sometimes I can get 50 files to transfer before the server locks up, sometimes I cannot get the first file to copy. This happens whether the files are on the NAS or local drive. The TI side gives an read device error 6. On the Windows side the HDX server becomes non-responsive, there is no error, it just stops and I can close the program normally. On the TI side I have used CFHDX and UberHDX. Has anyone ever run into the HDX server locking up?
+FALCOR4
Ah,interesting. I get the error 6 but under a different set of circumstances. I tried to copy several PROGRM files from the TI through the RS232 HDX onto my PC and got the the error code 6 back. I don't recall if the HDX server locked. But, I was using the old Myarc XB HD disk utilities to move files off of my 10M WDS drive through the Myarc personality card. I just dismissed it because the disk utilities are buggie anyway. I actually had to move the files to a floppy then transfer them to the PC through HDX. It was painful because I have A LOT of PROGRAM files. All the other files; dis/var, int/fix transferred just fine.
+OLD CS1
Usually my target is SCS2, but tonight I also tried DSK1. Same behavior if I tried to copy all files at once or a large number of files. However, I found that if I only copy one page at a time to DSK1 I never had a lock-up. So bizarre. I have not tried that trick with SCS2. I am very perplexed. Oh, another thing I did find is this is not really a "lock-up" of the application but apparently a protocol hang. During a hang before when I received the Readsrc error 6, when I tried to start again I would get the same error. Tonight I watched the HDX server window and noticed the file remained open at the first hang, then on the first restart attempt nothing happened with the file, but a second restart attempt closed the file and opened whatever the TI requested. It would be nice if after an error the file selections did not clear. Feature request?

I would have to go back and look, but I believe the MUS files transfer as DV80.

+OLD CS1
i have zero problems..it may be simply poor rs232 port quality on the pc side This happens with Bluetooth and three different USB to x-232 devices (two of which are the good old Prolifics.) It also happened with my old Core2Quad system and my new i7 system.
+arcadeshopper
Well Fred can speak to the errors but i use a ftdi based usb to rs232 GearMo USB RS-232 Serial Adapter with LED Indicators Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000 Support https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AHYJWWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_m3ePBb7XJDKYS I've had nothing but problems with prolific adapters Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
+FALCOR4
i have zero problems..it may be simply poor rs232 port quality on the pc side Hmmm, could be in some cases I suppose but I don't believe I'm having that issue. It's 100% consistent for me. However, I didn't want to spend energy on it since I'm on my last harddrive of that vintage. Once it goes completely bye-bye I'll have a Myarc personality card museum piece. I've been pretty much working off the RS232 HDX now and the UberHDX cartridge. Still use the heck out of the GoTek as well (thanks Jon!). Point, better options now than relying on a finicky old HD. :-) And, there's TIPI !!
