Downloaded Stella 5.1.3 and It Won't Run

I downloaded Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (vc_redist.x64.exe) and Stella-5.1.3-x64.exe and now Stella won't run. I get this pop up message:

 

 

Can I trust the info on this page about it:

I don't want to do a bunch of crazy stuff to my computer because I already thought I lost everything when Avast screwed up my computer and my PC somehow magically healed itself. Maybe I can go back to an older version of Stella that doesn't require a bunch of weird stuff for it to work.

I went searching and I still had Stella-4.6-x64.exe on my computer and installed that. At least now I can run works in progress from Visual batari Basic again.

So, yes must install that.

Hey, RT. Going with the reinstall, can't hurt things.

 

At worst, nothing will change. However, both the error message posted as well as the site you linked, provide the advice to reinstall when running into such errors. Make certain you're running it as an administrator too, just to ensure all the bases are covered.
