NanoPeb Beginners question

I am new in the TI99/4A scene. I beg your pardon for my beginners question. Is it necessary to plug in the NanoPeb into an Speech Synthesizer before plugin the TI99? I saw on serveral Youtube videos this configuration.

Thanks in advance

Achim

It is certainly not necessary—unless, of course, you want speech. The nanoPEB must be last on the line because you cannot plug anything into it.

Thank you very much. The TI99/4A was the very first contact to an home computer. A friend owned one. My parents wouldn't buy me one. But the first impression

has been written in my brain. It took over 30 years to get my hands on this machine. At last. And now I like to learn what make this machine running. It looks so

gorgeous. I am overwhelmed, the old machines hasn't reached their limits. New hardware will be developed, new software will be written.

(the picture is a 32K into a speech), but it is the same for a nano-PEB, it is easier to plug it into a speech to take it out from the side-port.

Note the nanoPeb need to have a 5V supply connected (it works on 600mA, but 2A is preferred) and the little switch need to be on.

(in case you do not get the nanoPeb to work).

the cover is a standard plastic namecard box

Or if you are using the NanoPeb with a Speech Synth module you can mod the Speech Synth to pass 5V through to it's expansion port (a single wire pass through mod) and do away with an external psu, I don't think you'd get away with using anything more than the Speech Synth and NanoPeb though.
