+groundtrooper
I remember that I am able to get double shots in Atari Space Invaders by turning on the 2600 with the reset button pressed. How can do this in Stella? If you go into the options menu and in the input settings you can set up a key on the keyboard for the "Fry" option. The default is the Backspace key. Granted this frying also jacks with every aspect of the game, random invader layouts etc. I don't know if there is a way to get double shots while preserving the rest of the gameplay. Keatah
Right click on the ROM name in the list, then select Power-On Options. You can then ask the emulator to hold down the reset switch while the game starts. Click on the Reset box and load the rom. This preserves gameplay without frying effects or jumbled graphics. 3

That is so much better. Thank you.
Nukey Shay
Game Select will still wipe out the effect. So in Stella's debugger, you can edit Ram location $DB to be zero (or at least, have bit 4 turned off) after picking a variation. This is the flag that allows both player shots to be onscreen. When you "fry" a game on the original console, the chances that this flag is set are slim...but choosing a game variation automatically corrects the glitch.

Holy crap, it works! I got double shots in Space Invaders on my laptop running Stella and I didn't have to fry! That is so great! Thanks @Keatah for sharing that tip (if you're still around), and thanks to whoever thought to put that feature into Stella!
