Legendary C64 SID music composer has passed away at the age of 52.

Gone way too young.

His music was the soundtrack to so many classics.

Rest In Peace.

Very sad. He was expected at BIT Live Bergen (Norway) on October 13, but as Chris Abbott wrote "his illness appeared to be stable and he was looking forward to performing, but he had a turn for the worse". :-(

Such a shame.  While there were many talented SID composers, Ben - along with Martin Galway - are the two names that immediately spring to mind when I think about C64 music.

RIP, a true legend - not only in the C64 world, he has also wrote heaps of marvelous music for Amstrad/Sinclair machines.

Oh, man.  Losing Ben is a huge loss across the board.  Amazing talent gone from the world but he has left us with a fantastic legacy.

A fundraiser for his family has been set up to create a musical legacy in order to try and help create a fund to support young musicians in his name:

I don't do Social Networking to the degree others do, but please if you could, could people help spread this link where ever possible?.

Many thanks.

I am sure Bens Family would very much appreciate your kindness in doing so.
