FroggoGamer
Is there any difference between the VE version of Beef Drop and the non-VE version made a few years back besides the Pokey chip? I noticed the AA Store is selling a Pokey version of Beef Drop VE but I saw one of the old non-VE versions of Beef Drop on eBay recently. +groundtrooper
The VE is the "Value Edition" and uses TIA sound (No Pokey Chip) Al started offering an unlimited run of the POKEY version but you must supply your own POKEY. I asked him if he could make me a Beef Drop & Pac-Man Collection with POKEYS about a year ago. After he got back from PRGE last year and got caught up he sent them out in time for a nice Christmas gift to my self. A few months ago he added them to the store permanently. Jinks
I have the ve. When I get the XM it will turn into non ve by the pokey code already on cart.
8th lutz
Is there any difference between the VE version of Beef Drop and the non-VE version made a few years back besides the Pokey chip? I own a copy of the old Non-VE Version for over 10 years. Back when Atariage store originally had the non Ve version, it was numbered. There is no difference between the two versions outside Pokey chip and the Old Non-VE version from Atariage being numbered.
FroggoGamer
Thanks for responding. I was curious. I am on the highscore.com website and I love posting 7800 scores. I noticed there was a "Demo Version" listed on the category and wondered if the old Beef Drop was the "demo"
Trebor
Thanks for responding. I was curious. I am on the highscore.com website and I love posting 7800 scores. I noticed there was a "Demo Version" listed on the category and wondered if the old Beef Drop was the "demo" For years, the only publicly available ROMs were demos. Those playing via emulation would only have the opportunity to leverage the demo version. Since Dec 2017, the full/final AtariAge cartridge ROM has been made available publicly and is a part of Trebors 7800 ROM PROPack. The differences between the demo and full/final ROM: 1. AtariAge intro screen instead of buy me at AtariAge message at startup 2. No demo version message on title screen 3. Extra modes and 4 extra screens [Hold down pause at startup]
