DocFlareon
I'm asking the question because I need to estimate the total weight of a TI 99/4A system for the purposes of quoting a shipping estimate.
HOME AUTOMATION
I got 34 Lbs. on a bathroom scale including:32K cardRS232 cardTI FLOPPY CONTROLLER1 x TI FLOPPY DRIVEFLEX CABLE INTERFACE w/cable on top
DocFlareon
Okay, so putting the computer, software, and manuals along with the PEB would give a ballpark figure of 50lbs. That shouldn't cost too much to mail. I'll give arcadeshopper a couple weeks to sell me a dual-drive install kit. Once that's done, it'll be time to put the system up on eBay.
Omega-TI
I never knew the exact weight of the P-Box. I only knew that it was too heavy and large to comfortably lug around to the old user group meetings. The TIPI sidecar sure makes going to Fest West's more enjoyable! If I recall correctly it is about 26-28 lbs empty.
+mizapf
Interesting to see that if you are not familiar with the unit, it is difficult to imagine what it means. I could not say what 26 lbs means even though I know the factor, but I have an immediate idea what 11.8 kg is. :-)
digdugnate
i would guess all-in about 50 lbs. the not-useful answer is 'really friggin' heavy if you have to move it'

There was a composite color monitor I could plug into in my math classroom, thankfully. I would not lug a PBox again.
Omega-TI
I would not lug a PBox again. I hear ya! It would have to be a VERY special occasion for me to lug that monster anywhere.
Asmusr
Replacing the fan with a modern 12V version removes almost one pound.

It's a << MUST MODIFICATION >> (IMHO) for every P-Box owner.
