I will wait to open the wrapped gifts. The Goobers are absolutely PERFECT and the Kinder Joy looks awesome. Of course I love candy canes as well.

The 8 bit manuals are a joy as I did not have either of them. THANK YOU SECRET SANTA (like I don't know who you are LOL)

I will open my other gifts around Christmas and post pics!

Well, as I'm now not the first one to cave, here's mine :)

Upon opening I am greeted with this exciting looking assortment of goodies, with a note...

I've been considering getting one of these for a while, but was unsure as I have a fistula (for dialysis) in my left arm so was unsure how it would feel on my right wrist - this is great, and has been used 24x7 since the parcel arrived! Thank you so much!

We also find the mentioned mystery cart! I'm tempted to mail it forward next year, lol!

Foodstuffs! Yum!

Next up, 2 CDs. Always good to shove something Atari into the collection! I've no idea what the other one is as my laptop doesn't have an optical drive, lol. Never fear, one day! (And, if anyone knows what it is, post below and join in the fun!)

Up on the shelf that goes with Star Trek VI, Ghost and Wayne's World CDi disks, haha!

Moving on! Some random items of fun, which have been distributed to friends who are fans of the games - all good! Read the Atari booklets, found a shoot em up reviewed I hadn't heard of - fantastic bonus Christmas gift!

WOW!!! Such a fantastic Secret Santa gifting! Your Secret Santa may reveal themselves at any time (now that's a loaded statement).

Bravo to your Secret Santa and thanks to CyranoJ for sharing his experience. Glad you joined in this year and we look forward to having you again next year!

So, since we've started sharing ...

My Secret Santa contacted me via the forum and recommended that I go ahead and open my package if I had free time ahead of Christmas. That was all the nudging I needed to give in and open my package.

Here is a picture of my wrapped packages:

Told you guys it couldnt wait !!

Great gifts from my secret Santa.

The M&Ms will go in the game room till I get around to eating

them probably while playing halo or red dead 2. I look forward to playing the

Tomb Raider game love them all since the PlayStation one days.

Ill fire up the Double dragon game this weekend when I have more time to

share with the wife. She loves the old ones. This was a great pick,as I dont own it.

And the light weight motorcycle travel book ,its got me scratching my head.

Dont let the old-school look for you, its written for the modern traveler. Very neat I treasure it!

Thanks again Secret Santa. Merry Christmas to all and happy new year.

A huge, padded enveloped arrived today from my Secret Santa. Since others already begun to take sneak peeks, at least I opened it up to witness how many items were inside!

Thank you, it will be fun to open the packages later as well as taste all the nutty candy.

I am seriously stoked that you got your AA SS gift BEFORE Christmas this year. I guess customs decided to randomly target someone else this year!

Yes, I didn't even have to pay import VAT. Declaring a reasonable value, marking as gift and sending from a non-Asian (*) country might have done the trick.

(*) Not an attempt at discrimination, just an observation that anything I receive from China, Japan, Thailand etc gets stuck in customs while in this case something from the USA just sailed right through.

Didn't want to chance you getting it late Carlsson so I sent it Registered mail as well, that is the only way to get a tracking number via US Mail and keep shipping under 55 dollars.

There is actually a funny story about your shipment.. It started in a box but with the assistance of a very helpful US Postal worker got shifted to a giant padded envelope all to keep it under the 3 pound weight limit, we were playing with the items on the postal scale and trying different packages until I can find one that allowed me to send you ALL of the items I wanted to.

I think I am officially banned from that post office now... Ha ha

I honestly think if I didn't ship registered it would "take its time" to get there, but since the US mail wants to close that open registered mail I sent, they treat it much better. My friend would send her friend in Sweden a package and sometimes it will "get lost". After hearing about last years disaster with your package I couldn't chance it doing a repeat to you.

Actually last year's issues didn't have anything to do with my AA Secret Santa, but with Amazon and the post company they employ for standard shipping. If the books had been sent in a cardboard box instead of a rather thin padded envelope (far cheaper quality than the one you were guided to by the postal worker), they probably would've arrived the first time around, though awfully late. Once it was reordered with free priority DHL shipping, it arrived in a box within a few days.

If anything, it told me something about Amazon's shipping methods: if you cheap out and choose the slower shipping option, they will also cut costs and put your items in an envelope instead of the cardboard boxes us mortals usually try to stick with.
