Issue with Tandyvision One Disc

Hello,

I am a fairly new Intellivision collector, and I acquired a Tandyvision One fairly recently which is in terrific shape. While playing it, the metal disc part of "the disc" came off, and I was wondering what would be the best way to reattach it to the controller. I know that some of you are just thinking, "Use some glue!" However, I do want to make sure that I am not using something that could ultimately cause damage to my console, so I figured posting here first wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I am attaching a link to a picture of what I am talking about in case any of you are curious exactly what I mean.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Here's what I would do:

  1. Make sure the adhesive sides of the disc and controller are clean. I might use some alchohol and a clean, particle-free cloth to clean them a bit but don't get particles or dirt on them
  2. Spread a thin layer of rubber cement on the adhesive sides (the sides that meet together) of the controller and the disc. This layer should be very thin, just covering the areas.
  3. Let the rubber cement dry completely on both parts.
  4. Carefully line up the parts and stick them together.
  5. Using a clean cloth, rub any excess rubber cement off of the controller.

That should do the trick. Let me know if you try it and it doesn't work.
