+bob1200xl
I would like to check head alignment on some 810s. The old MPI style drives have the test points in the 810 FSM, but not the newer Tandon 810s. Does anyone know the test points for the Tandon 810s? I tried just randomly scoping the Tandon head card but nothing looks promising. Bob
_The Doctor__
810 fsm addendum was just loose paper inserts... no one scanned them?
+kheller2
Doesn't REV2 of the 810 FSM cover this? "NOTE: Pages &C-4 to 8C-16 explain step by step adjustment methods which are different from MPI adjustments due to mechanical differences in the Tandon Drive Mechanism. Appendix C provides the information necessary to troubleshoot and repair Atari 810 Disk Drives with the Tandon Drive Mechanism instead of the Micro Peripherals, Inc. (MPI) Drive Mechanism. The Tandon Drive Mechanism is plug-in compatible with existing Atari 810 Disk Drives with no change in the unit's electronics. To troubleshoot these units use the procedures for troubleshooting the Atari 810 Analog Disk Drive. Note that at some points there will be different procedures due to the mechanical differences between the MPI and the Tandon Drive Mechanism."
