More fantastic service from Best Electronics

Fantastic service and Best Electronics just do not belong in the same sentence! Never had a good exchange with them and one time they wanted to charge me double for a game because I asked what kind of packaging it came in.

I can only speak for my orders but I’ve ordered twice and emails have been responded to swiftly and postage was extremely quick, although I got hammered twice for import tax but that’s unavoidable sometimes.

I just placed a order with them and had a good results!

placed order via email, got a quick response and items came in very quick.

Their products seem of high quality, so I'm pleased they even included some articles to read and new product page.

My first reaction to their website was like everyone else but they seem to have the replacement parts we need and have created new improve parts that says a lot.

I dont think they are actually listed. Not everything Bradley has is listed on the site. He has 2 large warehouses full of old Atari stock

Yeah, you have to order the catalog to get the full list of parts. I don't know how much I've spent there over the years, but I've never had a single issue other than maybe once or twice he was slow to respond, but he's a one man shop and the only source for a lot of these parts.

He’s jacked the prices way up. Those screens were $25.

Be careful what you say to him. He’s like a volcano, if you say something that annoys him(which can be the most innocent question).... he’ll explode!

I tried to order 4 Lynx mb’s and he just flipped out.

Yep. When I asked him to confirm whether the game I wanted to order had a full cover image or the one with the stripe down the side (I think I was after Electrocop), he flipped too, saying this would be a custom order and the price will be doubled because the "warehouse manager" would have to go check. He then proceeded to ramble on about other aspects of running his business that didn't seem to be relevant to what I was asking. I never bother with this guy any more.

Just looking at the Custom IC page, he has TIA's and Pokey's listed as "Limit 1". I guess he's running out of TIA's. It's a scary thought that these 40 old machines may soon run completely out of their custom chips and may be impossible to fix one day. This is the reason I horde 2600's - the parts, particularly the IC's. I know FPGA's are the wave of the future, it would be nice to see a drop in FPGA TIA replacement one day.

I ordered a few replacement Jaguar game boxes from Best Electronics earlier this year, along with some other goodies. I got the shipment in two separate packages, but one of the replacement boxes I had ordered wasn't there. I thought maybe one of the packages had been stolen from my doorstep or something, but there was only one tracking number shared by all the packages, so tracking wasn't going to be helpful. It turned out he had just forgotten to toss one of the replacement boxes into the mix, and he did send it to me later, but only after he insisted the box had been included with the first shipment and that it was my mistake. He's definitely temperamental, but he's also one of the only sources for some of this stuff.

I've only dealt with Best Electronics once, when I ordered an Atari ST. I was walking on egg shells when I contacted him based on what people have told me, but he was perfectly friendly over email even though it took a few emails back and forth to settle on what I eventually ordered. It went perfectly fine, though, and he went above and beyond to make sure I ordered the right unit, etc. It also came packaged extremely well, arriving safe and sound all the way in Japan.

With Atari hardware prices what they are now, I really don't have any opportunity to shop with Best anymore, but I had a fine experience.
