mapman1071
I a user of Stella since version 2.0 in Windows 98, I am using the current version of Stella and have approx 65,000 roms. I am trying to find easy to use software that would allow me to remove dead and duplicate roms (Some of the duplicates have different extended file names). Can anyone suggest a good editor/manager? +Spriggy
Don't know if this helps your task. Rom Hunter @ Atarimania has arguably the most complete and sorted 2600 rom collection out there. Save you some time maybe. Oh ... and I use arguably very lightly http://www.atarimania.com/rom_collection_archive_atari_2600_roms.html Edited November 15, 2018 by Spriggy
Keatah
I use clonespy to search out duplicate files and/or duplicate filenames. You will want to back up your existing collection before starting de-duplication efforts. And RomHunter's collection is a good reference point to compare against. When you're done, you end up with RH's collection intact, and your collection reduced in size. I've been doing this for years..decades..! As far as I know, there isn't a validation program that says this or that is a good rom. Though Stella itself has a built-in database and renamer.
