BC quest for tyres: ROM available?

Already tried.

Well, there you go :) No official ROM download available. Either they feel another run is possible or they have a lot more projects going on then releasing this for free. That's my bet.

I don't think they would not tell us when a free ROM is available. That would not make sense from a public relations standpoint.

Thanks for your feedback. Last summer they were explicit in saying that after selling all copies in stock the ROM would become available. So I was touching base...

Another touchy point is licensing since the comic characters are brand names (and Sierra Entertainment probably exists in some fashion). They might only be able to release a demo.. which means modifying the game making it a "demo" version.

Activision owns anything that would be Sierra. I presume the BC characters are the property of Johnny Hart's family.

By the way, they could simply put the ROM for sale...

My experience is that it kills any future physical runs. Also, no one actually buys it. Also, unauthorized reproductions. It gets complicated fast, sadly.

Maybe they could wrap it in an emulator like some Piko Interactive titles on Steam. They would most likely have to negotiate a new license which could get more expensive than expected returns.

Well, actually I bought several ROMs. So it depends on the individuals. If physical stock is out, and no further sale is planned, why not...

As a side would you accept an unbranded version? Different title, sprites, music to avoid licensing issues? I mean, if free is what you want.. well, you can't have expensive branding.
