walter_J64bit
I know that the 360 uses a SATA drive but is a SATA 1, SATA 2 or a SATA 3? I'm thinking of using a SATA SSD drive for my internal hard drive. Thanks!

For example, the the chipset on the motherboard is SATA1 and you plug in a SATA3 HDD, they will talk to each other and settle on the slower interface, which is SATA1. I don't think that you can plug in any HDD. The XBox 360 will simply not show that it saw a HDD plugged in. I have tried it. It has to be a XBox 360 HDD. These contain a certain firmware. Someone made a tool that allows you to flash the firmware of your PC and laptop HDD. But, it is limited to only a few models.
