Mr. Bildo
I got a bunch of carts on the cheap at a local thrift store. Unfortunately the previous owners decided to make their mark on every single one of them. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the sticker without damaging the label? I usually use alcohol and various solvents to remove labels, but I've never had to remove a label on a label. Thanks much.
fiddlepaddle
You can try a couple drops of goo-gone and let it sit overnight. Sometimes, that discolors the original label, though (sorry, but I don't remember how Activision labels specifically reacted 20 years ago, when I was doing this all the time). Worst case, you might end up printing a reproduction label.
+save2600
Hairdryer to peel up the small label, and conservative amount of goo-gone on a rag, to clean up the leftover adhesive. Activision labels suck anyway, so if you'd rather just replace them, check out user Pbolands reproduction labels. He does others as well. They're excellent! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/216784-interest-check-reproduction-activision-cart-labels/page-1?hl=+pboland%20+reproduction
+GoldLeader
I think one of the pawn shops in my town uses those same labels and yeah the hairdryer is probably the best way to go...I'd get impatient and hold them over a light bulb (incandescent) and they'd peel off, but sometimes I'd get too close and cause burn marks or burn the plastic part of a DVD type label... If it's just for you, I'd totally buy some reproduction labels...If you do resell them though, I'd mention that they're reproduction labels.
