VectorGamer
Just found out that Joel West, star of the movie Chasing Ghosts Beyond the Arcade and Berzerk arcade world record holder has passed away. I got to meet Joel several times and I interviewed him for a magazine article I wrote about him. It's hard not to bring up religion but Joel was very strong in his faith. He said that he was always praying for me (as I'm not religious) and tried to "straighten me out." RIP my friend. You will be missed. Cynicaster
"I've got my entire... spare boards of my Berzerk machine. And that's what we're going to do... we're gonna play some Berzerk."
scotty
Talked to him several times. So sorry for his passing. Great guy. I have a poster from the opening of Full Blast arcade, which shows pictures (left to right) of a Donkey Kong, Armor Attack, Tron, Space Invaders and Berzerk on it, and I personal had it autographed by Billy Mitchell, Steve Weibe, John Salter, David Cruz, Richie Knucklez, Joel West and Walter Day. Ironically enough, All were signed in black except Joel. His was signed in Gold. Rest in peace my friend.

+chicgamer
Damn. I met him in 2016 at the Louisville Arcade Expo, and he seemed like an incredibly nice guy. So sad he died at a relatively young age. Edited December 17, 2018 by chicgamer
