Games Retrospect
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what others might be adding to their collection. Personally, I'm catching up on some Xbox 360 games, so my list is extremely random. I'm thinking about getting Crysis 2, Saints Row The Third and at least one of the latest Pro Evolution Soccer games. Oh, and I just bought a sealed copy of Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition which I just realized comes with expired codes in it, so I just paid more money that I should have for vanilla Destiny... We'll see if Xbox customer support helps me at all with that problem. Anecdotally, I'll probably end up taking my 360 to family reunions during the holidays so I'm paying more attention to that system and I'm really into Xbox One's backwards compatibility so any games I missed, I'm getting. Also, I just got some shelves for my collection which I'm extremely excited about. What are you guys getting? Anyone who would like to share is more than welcome! And thanks for helping me by answering random questions during 2018. Eric Edited December 11, 2018 by Games Retrospect
128Kgames
Technically my Arcade1Up Pac-Man cab is supposed to be a Christmas present so that's the only one I'm going to count (its also the only way the Wife would let me buy it). TheCoolDave
I've always wanted one but, it's a gift from me to me... A Nintendo Virtual Boy, I grabbed one with 6 games so I can be entertained for a while, I even grabbed a untested one, just incase there is issues. Always wanted to play with one and now I finally have one... Another console to knock off my list My brother already told me he got me Read Dead 2 for the Xbox one. And I might be getting Black Ops 4 finally (nuketown map is out, I was not going to buy because of the lack of a campaign). I'm still a COD guy, I love the run and gun type of game. And hunting down....NEED TO FIND a RED Wii... my shelf is going to be white for all my consoles, I have a white Wii, I think a red one would pop...just need a early firmware. Maybe for X-mas ? Eltigro
I have a feeling I'll be adding to my 2600 collection... my ex asked me for something the kids could get me, and I told her they could get me any 2600 game/games they wanted and gave her a list of what I already have. Just told her to tell them to pick whatever looked fun or had a good name or whatever. lol Other than that, probably not much. Pretty thin 'round here right now because of some unforeseen expenses...
Tanooki
Well I've actually outside of leftover amazon prime preorders not done much. I did gift myself a couple nice little PC Engine gems, one from overseas and another domestic, both though are digital pinball. From Japan came a complete copy of Devils Crash, and locally Time Cruise II which both arrived the same day. Kicking it off though, I scored that nice black friday deal for a PC everdrive deluxe set w/a memory card from SAG and it arrived like in 3 days which was amazing. Over the course of the last couple of nights I did just finish up a combined shipping order through Yamatoku Classic on ebay, scored 2 games unfairly cheap, a GBC game (Transformers Beast Wars) I've wanted a long time, and GC game too (Gundam vs Z-Gundam), both Japanese imports. Cost me all of $20 and $14 of that was shipping, kind of almost feel bad about that for the seller. I don't feel like I'll intend to really add anything, unless something new pops on a GoG Christmas Sale I just can't say no to, but that hasn't been an issue for a long while now. I think I have a Switch game or two maybe wrapped up for Christmas, and if one or two of those aren't like Pokemon Go and Diablo I may just go snap those up. In the grand scheme of things I just don't really buy games anymore but rarely, and if I do, most are Switch titles as it's easier to focus on less.

digdugnate
no classic gaming gear, but my wife got me a Switch and 'Let's Go, Eevee!'. I ended up getting Diablo 3 and Shantae Ultimate Edition.
newtmonkey
I've been feeling awfully nostalgic for Atari, so I picked myself up some (early) Christmas presents: - Atari 7800 with a few carts This will also be my electronics project for the holidays, as I need to mod it for composite video to even play it here. - Jaguar with AvP Works fine, was in bad shape especially from a Japanese retailer. 30 mins of cleaning and I had it looking just fine though. -A bunch of 7800 and Jaguar games from Atari Age, GOAT Store, and Video 61
BassGuitari
Well, I just took a shot on a $20 Vaus controller for the NES that was described as non-working but which actually, apart from a minor calibration adjustment, works perfectly fine. I also took a shot on an original but "nonworking" Atari Pong C-100 for $40 (shipped). Not as lucky this time as this one actually is nonworking, but I'm pretty sure I can get it to run. Worst case, I'll swap out the guts from a common-ass Super Pong or something. Also grabbed a copy of Zanac for NES on a random whim the other night (accidentally saw some gameplay footage on YouTube and it looks cool and it's pretty cheap, so what the heck).

I got a red Wii this year! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one excited about console color variations. I was super excited when I got it because the price was more than fair and I live in a small city where there are simply not that many Wiis around if you can believe that. The best part is that the family that sold it to me only played one game on it (New Super Mario Bros. Wii which comes bundled in with the console,) so it was as good as new. It came with the games, the manuals and even in the box, all in pristine condition. I had a black Wii before the red one and I always felt bad because it was somewhat scratched and the lid where you can hook up GameCube controllers was broken. So I bought the red one and got rid of the black one. One of the best purchases of the year for sure and apart from looking cool, I read that the red Wii is becoming harder and harder to find.

newtmonkey
- Atari 7800 with a few carts This will also be my electronics project for the holidays, as I need to mod it for composite video to even play it here. I was planning on doing this much later, but the kit came the other day and I had nothing to do yesterday evening... so I did the mod and even though I figured I screwed it up, it worked fine on first boot up! I went with the mod from The Future Was 8bit, where you completely replace the RF module. That means no drilling holes in the case, and I could conceivably restore the console to RF if I ever wanted to. The quality of the composite video is so-so. There's some ghosting on certain color combinations and the music sounds a bit "hot" but my soldering abilities are not great, so I can't rule out the fact that I might have screwed it up a bit. Still, it looks very nice on a CRT indeed, and I'll probably leave the 7800 hooked up to my PVM in the office rather than to my Framemeister in the living room. Skippy B. Coyote
Not a darn thing! I spent all my holiday money on others this year, and I have no complaints about it.
derFunkenstein
Not a darn thing! I spent all my holiday money on others this year, and I have no complaints about it. Same. But thats not to say I wont spend some money on a well-deserved graduation present for myself before too awful long. Once grades are posted. Gamemoose
I just got a Vita again with no intentions of getting rid of it again. I missed TxK, Shovel Knight and Minecraft of all things. I just found out Flower, which I have on PS3, was also a dual release for Vita. The only downside is I have to replace the battery.
cybercylon
I've picked up a lot this year, and have also downsized some of my other collections as I wasn't using them anymore. So at this point, I don't plan on getting much of anything. That said, these would be nice to have.. - multicart for colecovision - Assuming I decide to keep the N64, one of these: https://retrofighters.com - Various NES, genesis, and Super Nintendo games that I haven't gotten around to yet All of this is probably for next year.

Silverfleet
I ordered a 8bitdo SN30 Pro last week for my wife to give to me as a gift along with the Switch adapter. I plan on using it with my Retropie and Switch.
+LS650
I bought a copy of the new game LOOPZ for Jaguar. My copy of Wolfenstein 3D stopped saving games years ago, so I am getting another copy of that as well.

Does your existing cart just need a new battery? Why waste money if it's easily fixable?

Tanooki
I wasn't planning to GoG spoil myself further, but when Bioshock 1 and 2 Remastered pop up in the Winter Sale and debut at $5 (75% off) it's a fools move not to snap that up. $10 vs $40, no brainer on that one.
