INTV123
i bought a video cable for the c64 from eBay. came in the mail yesterday, and i tried it out today. Tried it on both the vic and the 64, and it like made a white line, and then nothing. didn't even send anything to my flat screen tv, i checked the cable with my meter and found that the ground on the rca cables was not connected to she ground on the jack that goes into the system, or any pins. i figured that that was the issue. any ideas for how to repair (is it even a repair if it was made wrong?) besides just solder a wire to both ends of the cable... though pretty sure that's what im going to have to to, but thought i should ask for advice. +save2600
Something like this... bought from China and doesn't work properly? I'm shocked! Take apart the din connector, heat up your soldering iron and compare with a schematic or pinouts such as the ones found here: https://www.commodoreserver.com/BlogEntryView.asp?EID=F4B967500A894E10BE4A104C65DB541E
carlsson
If the leads to each RCA connector only have one wire each, you probably don't have much options. If each lead has one signal wire and a ground wire, you're better prepared. Since it came from China, I suppose it was cheaper than it would've cost you to get a 5-pin DIN connector, two RCA plugs and a cable with enough wires and DIY from scratch? I figured it would look better to have a proper cable... it was also like $5 the RCA cables have a ground connection, and are tied together, just are not connected anywhere on the din connector end.
