tschak909
Thanks to a new version of APE from @classics (v3.0.14), the R: handler now properly honors the baud rate, and throttles appropriately, and PLATOTerm is now able to connect and be usable at 1200 baud! Thanks to Steve Tucker @ AtariMAX! -Thom

Ely
Sounds great. I assume the download for the new version is on the AtariMax site somewhere is it?
tschak909
Not sure yet, I was given an upgrade download, last night, and asked to test. I had to ping him once, to get the right AT command to switch the modem emulation into raw socket mode (ATB2), but other than that, it's been working great. There is no RTS/CTS flow control (not his fault, SIO protocol is hamstrung when it comes to asserting handshake signals), so speed is limited to 2400 baud (marginal)...1200 baud is very reliable. -Thom

Lord Thag
Yeah, this will allow me to connect as well. I'll check it out after I get back from holiday vacation.
Gunstar
So I assume Platoterm Lite will work with APE too?
tschak909
Yes, the fix was in APE, not PLATOTerm. (Basically, it now properly clocks data according to the requested baud rate, instead of shoving it out as fast as it can) -Thom
Gunstar
Sounds great. I assume the download for the new version is on the AtariMax site somewhere is it? Since it's a commercial product with a registered version, you may have to get an updated version from Steve directly. Either way, hopefully we will know soon. tschak909
Yeah, I'm a registered user, and he shipped me one to test, so I may have jumped the gun mentioning it.. -Thom
Gunstar
I'm a registered user too, so I'll just wait patiently until I hear more. Edited December 18, 2018 by Gunstar
+Stephen
Just email Steve using the "classics" email. He responded to me in < 24 hours, and even changed my address in the splash screen (I moved almost 4 years ago, dunno why I never asked before).
