I found that if you hold down the firebutton you can get to 99 points fairly quickly and if you hang back to the left of the screen you can avoid the laser shooting at you. You can rack up the score even faster if you know how to recognize binary patterns. Unfortunately the program doesn't have a stable scanline count as it jumps from 262 up to 263 lines every time you successfully bomb a target which can result in an unstable picture on some real world scenarios with physical hardware.
