Quick question: has the above been released for public use / where? I am curious to play it before buying the cart for almost $65. Thanks a lot!

I don't think so, but it sure would be fabulous if it were publicly available sometime! I've missed out on so many homebrews that I'd like to get the chance to play, if only by .ROM. Of course the decision on whether to release the .ROMs for public consumption is fraught with controversy. but in the end, I believe that we are generally good folks in this community who see each new .ROM which is released as a treasured gift and use them properly, in the spirit in which they are so generously given.

Ripcord is one of my favorite homebrew , a very simple game but terribly addictif , and very well done. However A little bit more variety in the game play would have been good (for instance different landscape) but the fact it was announced by coleco in the 80's and never released , add to the fact it is a must have in CIB  your homebrew collection!.

Anyway , i think  Collectorvision will release the rom for free one day. Just wait. :)

Thank you guys. I agree 100% with your comments. Lots of hard work and dedication to create these games.  I think the cart is worth every penny, I was just not sure about purchasing this one or others I am after.  Budget is tight, I wish they were priced in a $45 to $50 dollar range...Wizard of Wor for Colecovision is now selling for over $80 on ebay….... thanks a lot for your responses!  Al.

Yes, I looked there and it is still available but shipping is $12 dollars and it is regular service...I think is very excessive!!!!

This situation comes up a lot, it seems. It would be great to just buy the rom but then you end up with the 'once it's out there it's out there for everyone' argument but I've always thought if people wanted the compete package in cartridge form they were going to buy it anyway. Collectorvision actually did give away roms for older games some years ago on their old site but seems they ceased that practice.

Yes, I agree with you. I guess I am bit bitter about shipping costs of $12 for something that you can ship for $3.50.
I am not asking for free stuff not available to public yet. I am just making the observation some prices for the games are way too high. Another example, Wizard of Wor is $80+ shipping!!!! No way.
I hope there was an economy option of sorts......like plain cart for non collectors.

Thanks a lot!

There's just NO WAY we could ship a game from Canada for $3.50

As fas as the rom release, well the game is still selling and we do have CIB copies of the games still available

3.50$ not in canada. We are half socialist. it costs $10 to ship within the same city. 13$ starting price to a nearby city and 18 or more to usa. at 12$ they are probably taking a slight loss

Hi guys, thanks for your prompt and energetic responses. I hope I made it clear am not asking for anyone loosing any money or giving stuff away for free. I recognized the hard work put to create such beautiful games.

My initial commentary was about higher prices of homebrew games in the marketplace in general.

Later on, I made a comment about higher shipping cost of the game in question without realizing your prices were stated in CA dollars and not american dollars. My apologies for such an oversight.

On the other, you might have missed my comment about my suggestion of selling an economy version of the game at a more affordable price for people interested in playing the game not for displaying it on the shelf. Is there an option there?
Thanks! Al

All profits are re-invested into development and hardware

Prices are in USD

We're soon going to have an option for those with a tight budget, stay tuned
