I feel like we're barely hanging on to what counts as a "home console" as is. What we mostly have is middle-ground gaming PCs fitted to specific formats. All for competition to stir the current regime up but... will it actually be worth it? Also, they quoted 3 and a half YEARS. Whatever the motivation, it looks hella stupid. I just wonder what's their angle. Megalomania? Publicity for their racing game? Found some loaded disruptor whales investors from Sillicon V? Probably the latter, seeing as these guys were quite fond of kicksatrting things in the manner of Star Citizen (it was a bit of a pyramid scheme at one point, though at least they delivered some games) and this time there's no mention of crowdfunding. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Christmas 2020 is projected to be the PS5/XB next system replacements as I was told by my brother two nights ago on a long call. It's speculation still as the companies won't confirm, but when you get a lot of non-media back channel talk about stuff, it tends to have some reality to it, just as Nintendo is looking to PRO out the Switch at that time or before hand so they can still get whittled down ports, unique stuff, and keep their handheld momentum going since still Sony/MS want nothing to do with that. Buy ad space (a puff piece in media) hyping the console as a "competitor" to mainstream, but remain vague about what it has inside. I mean since when does "some competitive specs when it hits the market" rival anything? Nowadays many PCs and even linux boxes outclass consoles already.
