Casey Posted January 16, 2019 Share Posted January 16, 2019 Do you have an Apple II formatted floppy disk in the drive ? If the disk drive is empty, or if the disk is not formatted for an Apple II, that’s what it normally does, though the screen should say “Apple //c” at the top while it is doing that... If you hit Ctrl-Reset when it is doing that, it should drop you into AppleSoft BASIC with a ] prompt. Does it do that? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
+eebuckeye Posted January 17, 2019 Author Share Posted January 17, 2019 I do have a bootable disk that works fine on another Applie iic and it will not load (I have also cleaned the drive head). If I do not have a disk in the drive on that system it says the same thing but then the drive stops spinning. On the 'bad' Apple iic the drive spins continuously. Carbonchem Posted October 10, 2023 Share Posted October 10, 2023 Has anyone found an issue to this problem. I have the same issue. My drive reads disks fine but never stops spinning.
