If you've never played this game before you can jump right into it, but at some point I suggest reading the manual. Here is a link. Here are a few tips to start off: Characters can change from hand-to-hand to weapon mode by pressing select. All characters can throw grenades by pressing up and B when in hand-to-hand mode. The second stage of each mission requires finding all the check marks and then locating the exit. Game Rules:No Passwords. Score Post Deadline: Sunday January 27 at 11:59 PM CST. Games will be posted on Sundays and run two weeks through Sunday at 11:59 PM CST. A picture or screenshot is encouraged when posting a score but not required. No emulator save states, slow-mo, rewind, etc. No cheats, e.g. Konami code, Game Genie, etc. Turbo controllers are allowed. No point pressing. Round points are awarded according to the number of participants. Every player earns 1 participation point plus 1 point for every player they outscore. For example, if there are 8 players, the player with the highest score earns 8 points, second 7 points, third 6 points, etc. down to the last player who earns 1 point. I've gotten far enough to beat the guy with the bird (level 4-3 according to the manual). But I still only had a little over 190k, which is all I scored in my 1st attempt! And I didn't even beat the first boss that time. Yes, the first boss with the bird is level 1-2. But I completely understand the confusion regarding the manual. It took me a few minutes to spot that the 1-2 boss even has a bird in his picture. Anyway, I'm personally not doing anything special to score points. I'm just trying to advance as far as I can. I haven't been paying too much attention to points as I play, but it seems like you get a decent bonus for each boss defeated and an even better bonus for each mission completed. Well at any rate I got to several different areas and several bosses (I think 4?), and yet still only scored the same amount of points as when I never made it past the 1st area and died at the first boss. Maybe I just need a few more runs for it to make sense. 190k 196k 212k 212,650 Ok so I'm making it to the snowfield. Interesting game ! Out of curiosity I played a couple of rounds just to pay attention to the points earned for each boss defeated. The point values are pretty bizarre so I played a second time to see if they were the same. They were. Here are the results: 1-1: 24,880 1-2: 24,880 1-3: 43,320 2-1: 82,080 2-2: 75,410 2-3: 82,080 3-1: 82,080 That's as far as I got. I still can't complete 3-2. if you add those up you get 414,730 just for the bosses alone. I also checked the points value for various pickups like the Gun, Life, Ration and Ammo.
