curtis
Okay, here's what Iv'e decided after swapping message with several members here. I'm going to auction stuff off ON MY SCHEDULE! Understand I spent YEARS finding all this stuff and it's pretty dear to me. Plus I'm recovering from surgery. Combine those 2 and it's rather traumatic. However to give everybody a shot and to keep things on the up and up I've decided to show the items on ebay with an outrageous reserve. Outrageous enough that if you meet my reserve, you definitely overbid no matter how rare these items are. I don't expect the reserve to be met so whoever is the highest bidder will be contacted by me and we will set up outside arrangements. This way you know how you're doing on the auction AND nobody can complain about being "frozen" out, even though I'm sure somebody still will. I will absorb the ebay listing fees. When you bid on the item, shoot me a message on ebay letting me know you're here on AtariAge so I can track things. If an outsider bids, which I fully expect, they get lose out. The first setup is an HX-5102 DSDD floppy drive AND Editor/Assembler cartridge with an 18K CC-40. Questions may be asked here or on ebay. Any question on ebay will be published on the auction. If you shoot me a question via PM I will publish it and my response here. And yes, I am willing to ship international, but be aware: !. The power supply input is 120V/60Hz, and 2. Postage rates aren't exactly cheap anymore. So, here's the link for the first setup: https://www.ebay.com/itm/113598033172
fabrice montupet
Sad to see here the Global Shipping Program. Prohibited and unjustified prices for obsolete and used material. A pure eBay scam.
kl99
Hi Fabrice, I understood that Curtis want to setup outside arrangements and not use ebay to by the platform to sell the item. ...the highest bidder will be contacted by me and we will set up outside arrangements
fabrice montupet
Ok! Thank you Klaus, I did not understand like that. The reserve must be very high to avoid the conditions of eBay
curtis
Ok! Thank you Klaus, I did not understand like that. The reserve must be very high to avoid the conditions of eBay Oh yeah, the reserve is WAY high. However, if someone was stupid enough to meet the reserve I would be bound to sell it to them. And by putting it on ebay it provides an open and fair process to see how the bidding is going and that I'm not playing games with the price. It also provides a established time frame for the auction. Yeah, I will lose a couple of bucks for the listing price, but it's worth it.

curtis
The floppy drive with 18K CC-40 and Editor/Assembler cartridge was won by Peter Fleeman. Congrats to Peter! Next item to be listed sometime next week will be a functional Printer 80 in the box with several ribbons.
curtis
And the Printer 80 is now up for auction on ebay. I had to make a couple of changes in this process. I didn't realize how much the reserve was costing me so I've lowered it to a semi-reasonable amount of $250 for the printer. The thing is IF the reserve is met on ebay, the transaction MUST go through ebay. The auction unit is complete with ALL packing, an AC adapter (not original), and 6 extra one-shot ribbons. However, if the reserve of $250 isn't met, I will still sell to the highest AtariAge bidder at their bid price. Here's the link for the printer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/113620664376 Curtis p.s. I also have a couple of other Printer 80's that have problems. One is a prototype(!). The prototype doesn't work. DOA. There is no serial number on the unit. Might be repairable or not. Caveat emptor!!!! The other printer works, but occasionally the print head jams and gives an "error 6." To fix it, I turn the printer off, wiggle the printhead and turn it back on and it works fine. I"ll also toss in a couple of ribbons with this unit also. No box or ANY documentation. I will include a short hexbus cable. I'll accept offers on these 2.

fabrice montupet
The prototype doesn't work. DOA. There is no serial number on the unit. Might be repairable or not. Caveat emptor!!!! I like this kind of challenge so much Repairing parts, waking up from their deep sleep, study them and then, use them, again. Thank you Curtis.
peterfleeman
I completely agree! I almost prefer to find stuff that doesnt work.
curtis
All the Printer 80's now have new homes. Also, Ksarul is the new owner of the "tiger stripe" CC-40 prototype. That deal was started before I decided to go the ebay route. Hopefully he will do a download on the ROM and post it for all to see. And, given that the rest of my equipment is fairly mundane I'm just going to sell it on ebay but I will give first notice here in the For Sale section.
