Looks like a bare bones cart changer for store kiosk usage. I'm curious what cart went in the "voice/demo only" or "voice cartridge only slots. I see a demonstration cart there, but due to the typical crappy picture and description quality on this site, I don't know what else is there besides 6-7 other not-impressive carts. About 6 mystery carts.

Pics for those who can't see:

Also included is a 2609 console, loose carts, and a red demo cart.

I'm thinking there may be some kind of Voice cart for slot 2 not shown, but only guessing.

Nevermind. I think slot 2 just has an intellivoice connected to it and is for a cart for use with intellivoice. I can't tell what it says for those eight slots, maybe "eight cartridges without voice"?

There's at least two variations of this unit. One says "eight regular cartridges - no voice capability". The other says "eight cartridges with or without voice". Edited by mr_me

Odd they wouldn't just make the second variation with all 10 with or without voice... :? Maybe saved them a buck or two.

I am guessing that this unit is a Post-1982 kiosk multiplexer because:

  • I am currently studying Pre-1982 kiosk multiplexer.
  • The Goodwill unit's circuit board has a coating layer over the traces (the Pre-1982 that was studied does not)
  • The Goodwill unit's large label for the slots has red text (not black) and has the slots labeled in a different order

This does not guarantee it's actually Post-1982 unit, but it does increase the odds.

Whoever wins this item, please contact me about studying this hardware.

As mentioned above, I am actively studying a different kiosk unit. Being able to compare the units would be greatly beneficial to the Intellivision community. I've been also been working on a few other reverse-engineer projects and have been helping the BSR folks with some odd-ball cartridges.
