Are you kidding? :o :o :o

Obviously not... Ok, I'll check the code. :)

Making a hack based on the PAL version should be easy. Though I suppose the original PAL conversion didn't adjust the speeds, so that the hack based on that will be ~17% slower too.

Or I could simply fix the colors for you (PAL colors, NTSC framerate and speed).

This hack was only a joke, but now I think it needs a name.

How about Sadoom?

Nope not kidding, open it under Z26 and change to a PAL pallet.
Of course I'm playing this on my 7800dev system (I didn't get that score
with a "mouse" ya know  ), and it's about the only game that works
with my 8k ramcart. Not to mention my only copy of Kaboom! is NTSC so
I'm pretty used to the colours by now ;)

I know. I just was surprised that anybody was even able to play (and enjoy?) that hack. I thought it was unplayable fast.

Hm, maybe I have to accelerate it a bit more...

Ok, you ask and I deliver. :)

Attached you find a PAL version (a bit slower than NTSC, for mollycoddles ;)) and a PAL60 version (PAL colors, NTSC speed).

Thanks :D
The PAL 60 version takes up more screen space than the slower 50 version :ponder:
weird! Mabye its a "feature" of my TV.

My top score is now 1980 (PAL 60)

How can i buy a cart of this?

 Check the FAQ (Will you build a cartridge out of my hack or homebrew game, just for me?).

I just played literally 100+ games of this thru the supercharger. My top score was about 1100.

This is an evil game. :D

I just got my CC2 and vaguely remembered reading about this hack. How exactly is it different from the original Kaboom?

Just clocked up 3339 on the PAL60 version loaded into my Harmony...

I take it the level never ends? The original thread link doesn't work..

I can make about 3500 on average with real hardware and a supercharger. Could you change this hack to have 3 sets of levels instead of 1 while. Such as make a easier set from sadoom then after a full round jump to the sadoom spped its at now and from there one set faster?  Then drop the extra life amount from 1000 to only 500. That would dramatically improve this crazy awsome game. I love sadoom as is but its ends so quickly I'm always reaching for the reset button.

I want to make a custom cartridge. Atari age needs your permission Thomas Jentzsch.
