XEGS almost works, help

I have a XEGS that almost works. It powers up, can load games, sound's fine, but the picture isn't stable. There's a big black bar (horizontal) that rolls around the screen. When it's near the top of the picture it causes the whole picture to roll. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? TIA.

That sounds like 50/60Hz (mains) noise to me. Do you have an alternate power supply you can test? Might you be getting a ground loop?

Hi All

This how it works, Just remember that it must be the 7 Pin black commodore PSU, not the beige one. Im sure after ALOT of tampering the beige could work.

"You can use one of those black 7 pin c64 PSU's for the XEGS. Just open the black box (PSU) and snip the yellow and the green wires, These are the 9volt AC's which i believe the c64 uses for the SID and printer port??"

Oh, you really want to have absolutely no connection at all with the yellow and green wires, In case the wiring is of different colour from your country, just remember that there are 4 wires and the 9V's are the 2 on the right.

Has worked for weeks for me, as little heat s if using a c64
