A 5th grade teacher in Las Vegas is looking for some help and, if possible, some equipment donations of Atari 8bit equipment. Anyone here in the Vegas area that can help?

He already purchased a Pilot cartridge.

Below is a quote from an email he sent. PM if you can help and I'll send you his email address.

Thanks,

Glenn

Howdy Folks,

I am a 5th grade teacher in Las Vegas. I teach Language Arts and Reading to 130 students each day. I last used PILOT in the classroom in 1988. It is an excellent instructional tool, especially when the kids use it to make up their own tutorials and quizzes for other classmates to use.

Since all I currently have in my classroom are two Apple IIes and four Macs (and since I can't find Apple Super PILOT anywhere), I will need to find the least expensive but reasonably reliable set of two (2) 800XL machines to place in my classroom to run the two PILOT cartridges (if the 'no box' cartridge is still available). As I have little experience with Atari computers, can you recommend what I should consider these two 800XL systems to include, and also your prices for them (including shipping)?

Thanks for your support,

tom sullivan

p.s. Please let me know if any additional PILOT cartridges or books show up on your doorstep. A PILOT computer system makes for a great classroom instructional learning center.

If the ship-to address provided is a school, I will donate 2 800XL systems, one pilot cartridge, and one flash cartridge with pilot on it, if I can get that in there somehow.

Please e-mail me at classics@atarimax.com

Very nice Steven. Helping the community 8)

The community has been more than good to me. Besides, we cant have them thinking Apple computers are the best. :)

Maybe we can come up with a list of EXE educational titles that will fit into an 8mbit flash cartridge. I'm sure there are exe version of pilot and logo floating around... that leaves plenty of space for other educational titles.

Unfortunatly I'm not really in the know about which games are really educational. I was always a ballblazer and pac-man sort of kid.
