Gunstar
There are TONS of cool sites, even web-rings you can surf through. But, there are SO many I'm not even going to start...but, you might start by looking in the links section here, and move on by using links at the sites you linked to from here, and eventually you'll also come across the web-rings to surf. or just do a search of "atari 8-bit" you'll find tons if you put just a bit of effort into it... krisjohn
My XEGS is a little underappreciated. Are there any available, possibly modern, expansion options for it to make it a little more friendly. RAM carts have brought my 2600 and Gameboy to life -- is there a RAM cart or disk drive option such that I can start shuffling stuff from my PC to my XEGS? Something new and reliable would be good, but I can solder so a kit that allows me to connect a PC 3.5" floppy would be just as good. If there was room for a keyboard where it sits now it would have already been swapped out in favour of my C64.
El Destructo
is there a RAM cart or disk drive option such that I can start shuffling stuff from my PC to my XEGS? Better yet, you can attach your PC to the XEGS and use it as a disk drive! All it takes is some software and a cable that you can build or buy. All the info is here: APE Home Page I have this setup; it's GREAT! Over 150MB of Atari 8-bit software at my fingertips, and new files are just a web download away. Nukey Shay
Better still, you can take all that stuff you have archived on floppy and put it into the computer's HD (a little safer there)...maybe even share some gems you've created and earn a little fame along the way. krisjohn
All it takes is some software and a cable that you can build or buy. And my PC to be on and physically near my XEGS. Maybe if I picked up an HP 200XL, Atari Portfolio or Toshiba Libretto... Nah, I'd rather some sort of drive. I think there was a PCMCIA drive for the Apple II produced a while ago -- something like that would be cool for the XEGS. I could probably spare a 16MB Smartmedia card and adapter.
