Bryan
I've noticed that APE is somewhat picky about ATR files. Many that work with Atari800Win+ won't load into APE. I realize that this may be because the files aren't quite right. The issue seems to be the "Paragraphs" setting in the header (fiddling with it causes APE to see the file sometimes). How is this value determined? -Bry
+Sauron
I don't have an answer to your question, but have you tried those same ATR files with Atari810?
oesii
This isn't a great answer to your questions but I've got some tricky .atrs to load by having APE shut down and double clicking the .atr on the desktop. It fires APE up and mounts the .atr automatically. Of course, you have to have your .atr associated with APE for this to work.
Bryan
I don't have an answer to your question, but have you tried those same ATR files with Atari810? I tried it, and Atari810 does seem to load all ATRs. I modified my SIO2PC to use DSR for APE, though, so I haven't actually been able to fully test it. (apparently Atari810 uses the old RING cable). -Bry
classics
Send me the broken ATR image and I will see whats up with it.
Bryan
Done. (any of the multi-disks from http://www.atari8bit-software.de/ seem to give APE problems) If I drag one of those into APE, it says "File Not Found!" If I select it from the Image dialog, it simply ignores my choice. -Bry
Bryan
Well... the bizarre solution was to copy all non-working ATR's into a ZIP file, then back out... and then they worked. -Bry
Randy California
I remember I used to have some problems with DD disks as well... ++ RC ++
Bryan
Well, I got both APE and Atari810 working. However, Atari810 won't communicate if APE has been run since the last reset. Must be something about the state of the serial port (and yes, I'm completely exiting APE). -Bry
