Tempest
Neato! Another mystery solved. Tempest
Brad2600
Sounds awesome! I wish I was as lucky to run across a proto. Eh well.
Thomas Jentzsch
Since I had access to the proto binary, I was able to find a code "fingerprint" which also points to Data Age. This large piece of code (~25 bytes) is 100% identical with three other Data Age games (and only with those). But it doesn't look at all like the Survival Run (MB) I know. Attached are some better screenshots to compare.

Susuwatari
OK now that we know it's Data Age and killed an old rumor in the process (making all current and previous version of DP guide book obsolete ) Now when would someone release that ROM? Or did the owner request this game not be released to the public?
CPUWIZ
Now when would someone release that ROM? Or did the owner request this game not be released to the public? That is solely in the hands of dinogamer. I dumped it for him and TJ analyzed it, what he does with it is up to him.

JCroniger
How complete is the game? It looks like it has several screens.
Thomas Jentzsch
How complete is the game? Hard to tell, do you think Data Age games are "complete"? So based on Activision standards its only a buggy "tech demo" (~10% complete), based on Data Age standards it's probably closer to 80%. It looks like it has several screens. There are three "different" screens (maybe more, I am too bored to check), but #1 and #2 are 100% identical, except that the water is missing in #2. Probably that was meant as a bonus screen. And #3 is only a simple static "victory" screen which is displayed a few seconds before the game starts with #1 again.
Callipygous
What? You mean people are getting excited over a game thats 80% incomplete, of low quality and unplayable. That'll never happen.
Susuwatari
What? You mean people are getting excited over a game thats 80% incomplete, of low quality and unplayable. That'll never happen. Correction: getting excited over previously unreleased game. If it was a released game, I'm sure Tempest is the only one that still gets excited. Tempest
If it was a released game, I'm sure Tempest is the only one that still gets excited. I'm not exactly sure how to take that... Tempest

Tempest
Sorry to bump up an old thread. But did dinogamer ever decide to release this rom? Tempest
Saikyo
I know what you mean Tempest he doesn't seem to be posting here anymore and there is no way to contact him, unless someone here personally knows him? Either way at least it's been dumped from that ROM otherwise we would have completely lost it!
TheRedEye
I posted these a long time ago, but just in case something funky happens, I mirrored the screenshots at Lost Levels: http://www.lostlevels.org/shots/2600-survivalrun/
Zach
Even if the ROM image is not released to the public, I hope Tempest gets a chance to see it, so he can add a page to atariprotos.com.

Keiyentai
I kind of doubt it since the last post will be 2 years old in 4 days.
Tempest
Alright, since Dinogamer hasn't been an active member in almost 2 years I think it's ok to post the rom. Enjoy Survival Run in all its craptacular glory! Tempest Survival_Run__Data_Age_.bin
