videotwit
OK. I was just posting about how I'd be exstatic to find Spy Hunter in the thrifts for 2 dollars, and then it dawned on me. Spy Hunter isn't really all that rare. I see them floating around fairly often on people's trade lists and such. I'd have to do a little more looking, but it'd be interesting to know what the most common game is that I'm missing in my collection. I think Spy Hunter sticks out in my head because it is the only Sega-produced title that I am missing. How can I have Tapper and Thunderground already, but in my 8 years of collectiong I've never been able to get that elusive Spy Hunter. Maybe it's because I don't do Ebay. Maybe it's fate. Who know's. I DO know that I have tried to trade for it in the past, but something has always prevented a trade. (This has happened more than once). So, what is the most common game that YOU are missing from your collection? ~Scott
Tempest
Geez, I didn't thin Spy hunter was that common? I was really happy whenI got mine off ebay a few years ago (cost me about $24). I'm not missing many games that aren't 6's and up mainly because I've just given up and went to ebay. But for a few systems I'm missing some Uncommons and maybe a few Commons because I'm holding out for boxed games. Getting back to the point of this post, the most common game I need is Room of Doom or Mines of Minos I guess. Not very common but I'm getting close. Atarian75
Well, according to the Atari Age rarity guide the most common game that I need for my collection is Sneak n Peak. I have almost 300 different games but this one has eluded me all these years and it is only a 2. Some other fairly common games according to the Atari Age list that I need are Tape Worm and Commando. Anyone, have these for trade? If so check out my trade list on this site. Maybe I have something you need. -Atarian75
Scooterb23
I never have picked up Demon Attack, despite there being a 50 cent copy at my nearest source every time. I actually just got Combat 3 weeks ago, can you imagine a 200+ 2600 collection without a Combat?!?! I had one, now I have 5 combat carts! I need a lot of '1's and '2's still, I've been really fortunate to be filling up most of the '3' and '4' level carts already. My next goal is to get a '7', I have one '6' as it stands right now. Mountain King
I collected games I liked playing, not because they're rare or common. Don't get me wrong, if I see a rare game I will buy it. But games I liked playing took first priority. Unfortunatly there are a lot of early games that just weren't that fun and are as common as dirt. They will probably be the last games I get. Actually I'm to the point now were I have all the games I like playing and I'm just getting games I don't have.
Tempest
Some of those Sears games can be impossible to find. I just finished off my Sears collection by getting Backgammon. It took me forever to find it! I got Dare Diver, Superman, and Cannon Man right off the bat (really cheap on ebay a few years ago) but Backgammon eluded me for years! I finaly got my Quadrun a few months ago. I got it with the instructions (both in absolute mint condition) for $100. The same guy sold me the instructions and comic for SQ: Waterworld (and the hint sheet), and the instructions for the Silver labeled Gravitar for $30. Can't beat a deal like that! Sorry about the above brag, I just had to counter mr. Pitfall's Quadrun AND Mangia story. No one should have both, it's just not fair!!! I assume that Mangia is PAL right? Joel D. Park
My most common needs are the Sears Games. The next most common is probably Road Runner. Please check out my trade list guys, maybe y'all can fill it. http://www.atari2600.net/aspWantList.asp I might not have Atari games you want, but I can shower you with games from other systems.. Also I do have some boxed stuff like Cruise Missile, Commando, Robot Tank etc.
jahfish
ok, stop talking about mangia. i traded mine to marco_k just because i got many other rare items ... anybody got one for me?
Tempest
Your lucky though, you can use a PAL one. We have to get that UR NTSC version. So what games are really hard to find in PAL format but are easily found in NTSC? I know the two Swordquest games are fairly hard to find in PAL, but I can't think of too many more.
