toughacton
Distant lands!!!! I know its my most anticipated release. As for best selling... well I'd have to say Eye of the Beholder if it ever came out.

Letting the cat out of the bag, hm? cat? bag? ah,the lynx is the cat. also, the bag is the lynx pouch. cool word association stuff,davidcalgary29. yes,i did have my lynx outside of my lynx pouch the other night with some protos and stuff on it. it was a cool few monents, too. had fun. i would never let the cat out of the bag otherwise. --the lynxer
chris_lynx1989
So are the new songbird titles the above mentioned? i cannot speak for carl, but i expect something may make a surprise show- ing at the phillyclassic 5 show that is a few days away yet. i have no real plans of being there myself. i could show up in an incognito manner, so as to not draw a load of attention to myself. i could even keynote speak. you just never know,do you? i love surprises. we all have certain masks that we each wear. --the lynxer

+davidcalgary29
Did anyone actually read my first post on this thread properly I meant any game not just ones that have already been started. I'm very much looking forward to Tempest, but will support all other commercial releases, as well. I think that the following works-in-progress (listed in no particular order) would have quite a bit of commercial appeal: 1. "StarDreamer" 2. "Push Around the World" 3. "BattleSpace" (expanded) 4. "Tempest"

"Tempest" i could go for a tempest clone.also, zonik or something else. what is battle space? is it a battlesphere clone for lynx? stardreamer would be nice,i guess. if rolling thunder or heavyweight contender or full court press show up,put me down for at least one copy of each of those, too. i'll accept pretty much any nice quality lynx release that shows up. any- thing that looks cool on a lynx screen.--the lynxer
+davidcalgary29
what is battle space? is it a battlesphere clone for lynx? "BattleSpace", by Peter Musiat, was the runner-up in our "2003 Design a Lynx Game!" contest. It's easiest to describe it as a "Space Harrier"-type game, and it was a fave with our judges. Peter has kindly given me permission to share the ROM image of "BattleSpace" with other Lynx enthusiasts, and I'm hoping that it will be available on the AA site soon. Which game do you think would sell the most copies if it was released for the Lynx this year? I am guessing at TEMPEST 2000 or MANIC MINER Well I would say Tempest 2000 would sell the most, as it has that Atari appeal, but I've never heard of Manic Miner(is it a Miner 2049er clone?). What website has some good info on upcoming Lynx projects like these this year??

What website has some good info on upcoming Lynx projects like these this year?? You've never heard of Manic Miner????!!!!!!!! I'm amazed. It was originally a Spectrum game released in 1983 by Bug Byte (then re-released 6 months later by Software Projects). It was then later released on many other platforms. It was a very simple 20 screen platform game which was difficult yet so addictive in its day. Its success was due to the brilliance of the level designs and the bizarre enemies (including telephones and toilets etc). A very good game. Other great 8 bit games which would work well on the Lynx include.... Paradroid - C64 classic Commando - Arcade classic Chuckie Egg - Spectrum platform Pedro - Arcade but sadly much forgotten Bomb Jack - Arcade classic Starquake - Spectrum/C64/Atari ST game which was excellent. No unfortunately until this post I hadn't heard of the game before. I was around in '83, but I was only about 1 then...but now that I've heard of it, I'll check it out. There are so many good 8-bit games out there, and I think that there are a few more that'd be great on the Lynx Archon Hard Hat Mack Tapper Ninja Autoduel to name a few
MadLynxer
I would definitely drop some dollars for tempest. Battlesphere would also be cool or at least a networkable space combat game, that really takes advantage of the Lynx.

+davidcalgary29
Well shoot, I can't believe that it's been nine years since the "Lynx 2K3" contest! I'll look around for "Battlespace", but I doubt that I have the ROM image for it -- I wasn't one of the judges for the contest. Perhaps it's time for a "Lynx 2K13" contest?

There was a Lynx coding contest on Atari Age two years ago, but not a single entry was made, eventhough there were prizes. It was pretty sad to see. Michael David Morsette
Man if I could code I'd be all over this I taught myself Ruby and Python (a little) but that was years ago. And like they say, if you don't use it you lose it Maybe I'll dig in and see what my brain can comprehend.... If my boys will give me the time LOL
