Atari 2600 Diablo II Clan

Ok ok, I know this is way off topic (that's why I used the little warning icon), but I want to ask everyone a question.

 

Does anyone on this board play Diablo II on bnet? If so, I think we should start an Atari 2600 (or Atari at least) clan. I have trouble finding people I can trust and since I spend most of my time here I figured I'd ask my friends.

 

BTW, this brings up an interesting question. Am I the only one who plays both old Atari games and modern PC games? I feel they both have their place and don't overlap each other.

 

Anyway, if you are on bnet just look for Tivadar. I think I'm going to name my next guy Atari just for kicks.

I play modern pc games also, but Atari games will always have a place in my heart, because I grew up playing Atari. I agree that they don't overlap. I just got a copy of Diablo II, so a couple of my friends and I can play on the net.

Tempest I'll play Diablo 2 with you. Although I've never played it online. But yeah I play PC games as well as Atari. The modern games don't seem to be as apealing to me. They tend to be excessivly violent, addictive and tedious, more than fun. But I play the Sims once in a while, Diablo2 I just finished Myst 3 and I used to play Ultima Online.

There is plenty of room for New PC games as well as atari. Currently I play Quake3 Arena and Half-life. The new genre of pc games are very addictive however. Mountain King said he used to play Ultima Online so he can relate to that. I lost two years of my life on that damn game.

I'm usually on-line after 5:00 (EST) under the name Tivadar.

 

I actually quit playing Diablo II for a long time because it got boring, but I recently picked it up again. It's funny that it's the modern games that get boring fast and the classic games never seem to get old. I doubt we'll be playing DII 20 years from now like we play Atari games. I guess there's something to be said about gameplay over eye candy.

I just started playing a new game of Civilization 2, the only game I can think of that even comes close to Civ 2 is Civ 1 .

I think Civ. 1 is responsible for me failing Calculus. I played it non-stop when I was supposed to be studying. I wonder if I could sue Microprose?

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is a darn good "sequel" to the Civilization series if anyone's tried it. A lot more options, and the multiplayer games are great.

I watched my brother play it for a while. It was good but I had a hard time following the Science tree, even with the big poster that comes with the game.

 

I like Civ because the advances are pretty explanitory.
