MattyXB
I have a question about this game Smurf Save the Day and Bearenstein Bears. Is it playable without the Kid Vid and the cassettes? I ask because on Emulator it is not playable. And I think about, to buy it, if it is on Ebay. But if you can't play it with the cassetts, then it is not so good. Alex
You must have the cassettes in order to play. Now, you can download those off the net (at least you used to be able to), but the tricky part is the custom interface cable that connects to the tape player. If you're technically inclined you can build one, but basically this is why they don't work with emu's.
san-d-2000
On Sly dc´s webpage you can download the mp3´s. The only thing is, he made the MP3´s mono, so the beeps which trigger the Kidvid player are missing, so they won´t work For more than a year I have the Kidvid player and the Smurf cartridge, but I´m still missing the tapes, so if anyone could make some mp3´s in stereo, that would be great! MattyXB
THX for the answers. Yes, I have seen them as mp3 to download. But only the mono. But then I need the Kid Vid player too. Or can I use other cassett players? Matthias
Scott Stilphen
Isn't there some way to "fool" the system into thinking the KidVid module is hooked up?
GrizzLee
If anyone is interested, I have all the KidVid tapes archived on CD rom. They are easily recorded onto Cassettes. Just email me at: resqsoft@earthlink.net Take care, -Lee
GrizzLee
I might also add, that I have a complete KidVid System for trade (includes Smurf's, all 3 tapes, recorder and the special cable). Take care, -Lee
khryssun
Hi lee, How long are the tracks ? If it's possible it would be great to send the tracks in mp3 format to Atariage for the archives (If Albert & Alex agree).
Tempest
I'd be interested in trading for Smurfs save the day and the kid vid. What are you looking for? Tempest
MattyXB
Great idea from you khryssun. Are the stereo? I have the mono's, but they won't work. And they are big, 9MB and 5MB. MattyXB
