About Catalogs

Are you interrested in getting the scan of a French Catalog ?

It would be great to get scans of any foreign catalogs, since they're extremely uncommon (uhhr, rare) here in the US. However, I'm not quite sure (yet) how to handle that in the catalogs section since the games link into the catalogs, and foreign catalogs would probably contain many PAL games we don't have in our database (yet). I suppose we can still put the foreign catalogs online and simply not link the games into them (yet).

Which company produced this French catalog? Atari?

Thanks,

..Al

About catalogs. Since you already have them (and more than I have), do you think it would be stupid for me to scan mine in for my site or do you think it wouldn't hurt?

I'm glad you finally have catalogs, there's a lot of good information there.

There's only one problem I had with your catalog navagation so far. I had to click on a catalog before I got to another screen that had, "Click Here To View Catalog." Is there any way to get right to a catalog's pages without that extra step?

Thanks.

Well, it's entirely up to you. We're going to be pretty aggressive about getting as many catalogs as we can online and our scans are of fairly high quality (at least I think they are. ) So as long as AtariAge remains online (which we hope is a very long time!) these catalog scans will be available.

We also have them tightly integrated with our database making it easy to see what catalogs an individual game appeared in, as well as which games appeared in any given catalog. If you have any catalogs we're missing, we'd love for you to scan those in and send 'em to us so we can add them to the collective.

I have three catalogs that can be added: one that doubles as a poster, the later "Atari Stars" catalog and a similar 5200 catalog.. they're both huge single sheet fold-out monsters

I still have several catalogs I need to scan. These include the brown "Atari Advantage" poster, the silver "Atari Stars" poster-catalog and a 5200 poster catalog. Those may be the only remaining Atari catalogs I have in my possession, so if you have others outside of this I'd love to get scans of them.

The reason I haven't scanned the poster catalogs yet is that they're somewhat problematic. They have to be scanned in several pieces and then stitched together. I'm sure not going to stitch them together by hand if I can avoid it, so I'm looking for a decent software package that will do so. Many will stitch several horizontal images together (for panoramic shots), but very few seem to stitch images both in the vertical and horizontal directions. Once I find a program that does an adequate job at this, I'll get those catalogs scanned in. It'll also help me with several Lynx poster-manuals I haven't yet scanned for the same reason.

Yep it's an Atari Catalog with only first common games. Pretty rare I think (I sent one of the 2 catalogs I owned to twit )

Out of topic but Have you received my mail about the joystick adapter and the trade list I sent you yesterday?
